Description
This is a precision-engineered replacement fuel cap designed for Schmitz trucks and trailers. The model features a standard 120mm threaded connection, modeled with tight tolerances to ensure a secure and reliable fit.
⚠️ Critical Material Recommendation
Due to constant exposure to diesel fuel, chemical additives, and harsh road conditions, the choice of filament is vital for safety and durability:
- Best Choice (Recommended): Nylon (PA12 / PA11). Nylon provides superior chemical resistance to petroleum products and high impact strength. It remains durable under vibration and will not become brittle over time when exposed to fuel vapors.
- Alternative: Polypropylene (PP). Offers excellent chemical inertness, though it requires careful bed adhesion management due to high shrinkage.
- Materials to AVOID: PLA, PETG, and ABS. These materials are prone to degradation when in contact with diesel. They may soften, crack, or leak, especially during summer when the metal fuel tank reaches high temperatures.
