Description
Summary
'Flatz' is a 3D-printable snap-in flat pedal adapter designed for Shimano SPD-SL road pedals, allowing riders to use regular footwear without carrying an extra pair of cycling shoes.
The adapter clips directly into the pedal using the standard SPD-SL cleat retention mechanism, converting the road pedal into a practical flat/platform for short commutes, grocery runs, café stops, and casual riding.
This design features an optimized high-grip ridge pattern engineered specifically for sneaker soles, improving traction and foot stability while maintaining a lightweight, low-profile form factor. The platform geometry has been iteratively refined for improved comfort, load distribution, and lateral grip.
Same STL File is intended for both Left and Right Pedals.
Features:
• Snap-in SPD-SL (PD-R550 & PD-RS500) compatible mounting interface - | Compatible with Tiagra, 105, Ultegra and Dura-Ace Pedals |
• Sneaker-optimized grip ridge geometry
• Lightweight and durable printable construction
• Fully printable with standard FDM printers, with pre-modelled supports for overhangs!
Designed for convenience, utility, and everyday versatility, I hope this bridges the gap between performance road pedals and casual everyday riding!
NOTE: This is a Work-In-Progress, Any Suggestion/Reviews are HUGELY APPRECIATED. I one day plan to start selling a FINALIZED & REFINED version as an actual product, for cyclists & commuters who do not have access to a 3D-Printer.
Feel free to remix and share ;D !
