Helping Hands
Print Profile(1)

Description
Helping Hands is an open-source enclosure system for building interactive public storytelling objects.
The design was originally developed for a university design project exploring urban flooding, local knowledge, and climate-adapted futures in Leith, Edinburgh. Each “hand” is a touch-triggered sculpture: when held, it lights up and plays a recorded story.
This model includes the 3D printed enclosure and internal parts used to house the electronics, including an ESP32 controller, LED ring, speaker, battery system, and audio module. The enclosure is designed to be customisable, repairable, and suitable for small-scale public or exhibition installations.
For the best lighting effect, print in translucent PET-G.
