Description

If you like what i do please consider sharing or support me! this is a hobby and your help would be really appreciated! ❤️😊

All the models i make are made from cero using Onshape. Tested multiple times and fully printed before publishing. each tank i make has a place in my heart and takes a lot of time and effort, since designing is a hobby i have, I'm still finishing college.

mainly designed with pictures and blueprints, each part is made independently with no AI. I have developed techniques over time and some designed i have used techniques inspired by other tank designers, but i never copy others, i like to see authentic work in others, so i do that myself, too. If you like what you see, or you think i have a good chance at tank designing, feel free to share my work with others, comment about them, or just say what you think, It helps me continue my hobby knowing its good to at least someone, thank you!

XM665, Rapid reconnaissance vehicle. 1/24

Made to be an upgrade to the XM800. a light tank developed by the US.

Tank Concept:

With a bushmaster and two ATGM in a Bradley turret, Its meant to offer firepower along with a rapid speed with its powerful chassis, sloped, light armor and a powerful engine.

The Design:

I started By designing the Bradley turret, its not identital, it has some variations for this specific tank, but its extremely close to the turret of the M2A3 Bradley it belongs to.

The chassis is an old design I made a couple months ago, I scrapped it and used it as a base to modify it to make this tank.

The original chassis went through extensive modifications, before reaching the final form you see.

Breakthrough:

This is my last tank in this style, after this tank, i will develop real and more detailed models, new and more efficient techniques will come, and the scale will be lowered to 1/35, the main tank model scale.

Printing the tank:

despite the print profile being in 0.4mm nozzle, you can easily print this in a 0.6mm nozzle with no problem, except for the tracks. Use the colors you like! There no limit! (especially with AMS).  Have your print bed and room temperature at the bast possible, this way you maximize your chances at first-try-success.

Assembly:

Very similar to usual tank assembling, this tank has a main difference i wanted to point out, the locker for setting the rollers in place is different to the other designs out there, I made this system myself, but after a couple of tanks, i noticed its uncomfortable, this will be the last design using this system, as I will switch to another one. A more practical, glue-free technique.

You will need glue, use the one you prefer, I recommend using superglue though.

The turret canon is very hard to put in place, sand if necessary.

Blue lines are no glue, while red lines are the use of glue.

For the rocket silo you can use an M2.5.

A M2 could also work, I used a M3, but broke one of the little supports. It was also very hard to screw in, so a M2 to 2.5 is better.

For the body remember that when installing the rollers you must put the rollers together, place them in the cylinder, and then paste the locker to the tip of the cylinder, this way they can stay there and roll, too. If you find this system uncomfortable, don't worry, this will be my last model using this system.

For the plates that go in the hull (grey in the picture) If you don't use the print profile, remember to put top and bottom layers to 0, and put a rectilinear infill to 40-60%, Grid also works.

Thank you, don't miss out the next models, which will be better!
