Light sources in a room can negatively affect human sleep by causing prolonged sleep onset times and more frequent awakenings.

Glowing power strip switches are particularly annoying. Since switching off all light sources in a room daily quickly becomes bothersome, I designed this magnetic cover cap.

Installation is quick, but the effect is enormous. In addition to completely covering the lights, the cap also offers protection against dirt or accidental activation. Due to the magnetic connection, the switch is still accessible.

Parametric

Using the “Customize” button, you can parametrically adapt your own cover perfectly to your switch and magnets.

For this, you only need to measure the diameter and height of your magnets, as well as the dimensions of the “inner cavity”.

The inner cavity is determined by the length, width, and height of your switch. However, for the similarly named parameters, you should choose slightly larger dimensions (from the actual contact surface of the cover's edge).

Easy to Print

The print does not require support structures and can be easily printed with standard settings. However, after slicing, it should be checked that the wall thickness around the magnets is sufficiently thick.

Easy Assembly

The cover consists of two parts: the actual cover cap and a thin base.

First, the magnets must be pressed into the holes. Pay attention to correct orientation so that the cap and the base attract each other.

Then, double-sided tape is applied to the bottom of the base.

Finally, the base is firmly glued to the power strip. The cap can now simply be placed on top.

Two Versions

The cover is available in two versions - rectangular (V1) and round (V2). You can find the round cover on my profile.
