Description
Wanted to put drop bars on my brakeless fixed gear bike, and did some searching on makerworld and elsewhere to see if anyone had come up with a fake “hood” for a more comfortable grip position. Among other designs for sale, I found this model: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1540561-fixed-gear-bike-hoods#profileId-1616785 but the hose clamp required does not seem to be a common part in the US, or at least I couldn't find one narrow enough to work.
Using that model as inspiration I designed a similar shape that uses a standard ½" wide hose clamp, easily found at home depot etc.
The smaller hose clamp size would probably work better as the bolt head sticks out a bit on this one, but you can cover it up good enough with your bar tape wrapping and it doesn't seem to be too much of an issue. I mounted to carbon bars at <4nm torque without issue.
