Print Profile(1)

Description
Peking University West Gate is the main entrance of Peking University, a classical three-bay vermilion palace gate structure, no more than eight meters high. The West Gate is located at the starting point of Peking University's main axis, serving as the best entrance to experience the university's scenery. There are two stone lions on either side of the gate. The West Gate was funded and built by Yenching University alumni in 1926, hence it is also known as the Alumni Gate. Facing east to west, the West Gate is a classical three-bay vermilion palace gate structure, only seven or eight meters high, with a simple, solemn, and elegant style, similar to the East Palace Gate of the Summer Palace, exuding a strong national character.
