Modular Parametric Lithophane Lamp System

✨ Concept

Icosalume and Dodecalume are modular, parametric lamp systems designed to transform images into illuminated 3D experiences.

Each face of the geometry can be customized with lithophane panels, turning the lamp into a deeply personal object — capable of displaying memories, artwork, or themed compositions.

The core idea is simple:
transform light into storytelling.

🧩 Modular Design

The system is built around interchangeable frame segments and panels:

• Easily swap panels
• Combine different colors and materials
• Mix solid, open-frame, or lithophane faces
• Create unique configurations every time

Two geometric variants are included:

• Dodecalume → Pentagonal faces, softer and more organic
• Icosalume → Triangular faces, sharper and more modern

Both share the same modular ecosystem.

Using Litogen Lite, users can quickly convert any image into lithophane panels specifically sized for Icosalume and Dodecalume.

This simplifies what is usually the most complex part of the process and makes personalization accessible to everyone.

• No special tools required
• Panels can be swapped without disassembling the entire lamp
• Compatible with standard LED modules

🔌 Lighting Compatibility

The design supports commonly available LED modules:

Small Dodecalume

• Compatible with:

  • D37.2 × 36.6 mm LED Flame Tea Light Candle Set

💡 Notes

• Designed for safe, low-heat LED light sources
• Ensures even illumination across lithophane panels
• Different light sources can be used to achieve varied visual effects
• ⚠️ Do not use with real candles or open flame

🖨️ Printing Recommendations

• Material: PLA recommended
• Layer Height: 0.20 mm (standard settings work well)

Lithophane Panels

• Infill: 100%
• Infill Pattern: Concentric
• Orientation: Print vertically for best detail (especially for photos)

Frames & Pattern Panels

• Can be printed flat on the build plate
• Default settings are sufficient

Notes

• Vertical printing significantly improves lithophane clarity
• Concentric infill preserves fine image details
• Flat printing is ideal for geometric and non-photographic designs
