Description

I bring you a 1:1 scale model of the BAR 1918A2. The model is quite simple and has no moving parts. It comes in several separate pieces to be glued together, making assembly more intuitive and easy to do just by looking at a photo.

Both the handle and the bipod are not designed yet and are handmade pieces I made myself, but if the model performs well, I will dedicate time to designing them and adding them later.

The model is intended only as a prop or decoration, so it is not highly detailed for reenactment purposes. As you can see, the finished one I have took many hours of post-processing, effort, patience, and work—but yours can look just as good.

I am also working on the Polish version, which I hope will be available soon.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Thanks for the feedback. It seems the issue may come from the included print profile rather than the model itself. I’m going to review and update it to improve compatibility with different printers.

it is just a Browning Automatic Rifle, it was created many years before both of the firearms you named were even conceptualized

most prints had stringing, and was general a bad print

the stringing is not an issue with the model. It is an issue with your filament. You need to either dry your filament or purchase new filament to prevent this. Likewise try adjusting some settings in your slicer to reduce the affect of stringing.

believe it or not, but I actually just dried the spool, and the stringing only happens on this model and not others

how do you get that kind of finish on the wood and metal? What materials are used? thanks

I mainly use ABS for printing. To bond the layers, I apply a light brush of acetone. I also reinforce the joints by inserting metal staples using a hot soldering iron. Then, I use Filler Primer from Vallejo, a range they released specifically for 3D printing. Finally, using an airbrush, I apply metallic colors from AK Interactive, building up layers until I’m satisfied with the result. I might make a guide in the future, but the process takes so much time and effort that I don’t usually think about recording it.

I usually use the Xtreme Metal paints with an airbrush: Xtreme Metal Armament, Metal Steel, and Pale Burnt Metal. For a very common period-style blued finish with bluish tones, I also use Xtreme Metal Metallic Blue.
