Creator of musical scores. New version with chords included
Create your own sheet music or choose from some of the predefined ones to decorate your home.
With a few parameters and a little patience, you can generate any melody you want and turn it into a musical score to decorate your home.
Of course, you can choose one of the predefined songs from the Bank of melodies: Currently there are:
- Happy Birthday To You
- We Wish You A Merry Christmas
- Imagine (John Lennon)
I'll be happy to add melodies as you suggest them to me.
How to create your musical score
First you can choose the initial notation elements (opening signs)
1. The Clef: Choose in the dropdown list the clef that you want to use.
- Treble clef
- Bass clef
- C clef
2. The type of Accidentals
- flat
- sharp
3. The position of the Accidentals: a 7-digit number for accidentals (a "1" for accidental, a "0" for not). I.e. F#m="1110000"
4. Time Signature
- 2/4
- 3/4
- 4/4
Second, you have to create the melody
The melody is composed of several lines separated by ampersands (&). On each line, the notes are separated by slashes (/). The notes in a chord are separated by equal signs (=)
- -/-/.C3/.C3/1D3/1C3/1F3/2C3=E3=F3/.C3/.C3&1D3/1C3/1G3/2F3/.C3/.C3/1D3/1C3/1F3/2F3/.C3/.C3&1C4/1A4/1F3/1E3/1D3/.B4/.B4/1A4/1F3/1G3/2F3/-
The notes are in the form FNn[=Nn]*, where
- F=Rhythmic figure (Whole note, half note,…)
- N=Note (A-G). In lowercase, dotted note
- n=Octave
- Different notes to make a chord are added with equal (=) signs between them. Notice that the rhythmic figure is shared within a chord
- Examples
- Single note → 2G3 (a half note G in the third octave)
- Single note → 2g3 (a half note dotted G in the third octave)
- Chord → 4C3=E3=F3 (a whole note C major chord)
The rests, in the form F
- F=Rhythmic figure
