Description

Pencil Can Coozie - More sizes now added.

There's a Print by Object profile, a 2 plate profile, and a pause at each color change layer profile for those without an AMS.

Just a few supports on the pencil tip.  Feel free to change to the settings that best work for your printer.

Used some AI, some Bambu tools, Blender and Bambu Studio.   Wife is a teacher and has many teacher friends, so just tried to make something fun to give out.  I even used some wood filament for the tip.

This is my original creation.  You can tell this because it's not perfectly designed… unlike many of the great models designed on MW and other sites.

FYI:

20260521 - Finally had time to look at the issue some were having with the negative part of the lid.  That is fixed now, so there is just 1 object for the lid, so .stl exports should work now for other printers and slicers.

I'd appreciate a Boost

20250505 - This slim lid has given nothing but issues. It is sized correctly again…like it was before I had to fix the weird color change issue the original was giving.

20260504 - For the lid I fixed the color change issue some were seeing and made the 4 nubbins slightly larger for those who said the lid was loose. The main base remains the same. Please delete the old print profile file and redownload.

Great print, but why does the 12oz slim top have the black supports and black inside? It causes it to purge 76 times and shows through the top.

Yikes. I have no idea why that would have happened on your print. I just printed a slim version and mine didn't do that. maybe a strange setting you have for supports? did you accidentally paint the inside face black? or forget to paint it tan (if you used the paint tool)? I am working on the slim lid to try and have less supports, but haven't updated the file yet. edit...8hrs later. I have now edited the lid to use less supports and filament and updated the file. hopefully you figured out your paint issue. I know I did that before and painted something on the inside of a model and didn't see it until after it printed.

What slicer? On Bambu it's great but when I sliced it using Orca, the inside of the cap was black while the outside had the wood color. This led to over 100 filament changes.

I appreciate it. I didn’t think to use the paint tool to correct it. I’m gonna try the updated file tomorrow and I’ll keep you updated on it. Thanks again.

which profile? I did update the slim lid yesterday to use less supports and less filament but I'm not sure why it would do multiple color changes.

12oz can 2 plate profile. The lid also fits too loose. I see it's sl scaled down a bit.

Ok thanks. I'll take a look. Some say the lid fits snug and some say it's loose, so it's strange. maybe it could be increased .5% or I could make the nubs a little bigger. so maybe I should do that, but then for others that might make it too big depending on their printer, filament, settings. For ones already printed that are loose, people could use a soldering tip to melt a little piece of filament to make the bumps a little bigger.

great. thanks for letting me know. 1 user said it was slightly too small, but hopefully it was just a one-off issue for them.

Beautiful print for my teacher wife. I even used Sunlu Wood PLA for the pencil tip. Took me a few moments to realize the parts are "keyed", in the sense that the sides of the cap/base go together in a particular orientation.

thank you .. and the reason for that is I'm not a good designer yet, so it's not all perfectly symmetrical. ;)

It’s still a great print. A little fine tuning and it would be perfect.
