Description

Borg Reject - Interlocking License Plate Frame

This is a two-piece, split-body license plate frame featuring a bit of "Collective" humor. Designed for those who didn't quite make the cut for assimilation, this frame uses a mechanical interlocking system to fit on standard 256x256 build plates while maintaining structural integrity once assembled.

Design & Engineering Features

  • Split-Body Interlock: The frame is divided into two main sections utilizing a tab-and-slot system. This increases the surface area for bonding and ensures the two halves remain perfectly aligned during assembly.
  • Print Orientation (Face Down): This model is designed to be printed face down. This allows for a clean textured finish (if using a PEI plate) and significantly reduces the number of filament swaps required for the multi-color text and Borg insignias.

Print Settings & Preparation

  • Supports Required: Since the model prints face down, you must enable supports for the interlocking tabs.
  • Clean-up is Critical: For a seamless fit, ensure all support interface material is thoroughly removed from the slots and tabs. Even a small amount of leftover material will prevent the two halves from sitting flush and forming a good bond.
  • Material Recommendation: I highly recommend using PETG or ASA for this print. These materials offer the UV resistance and thermal stability required for automotive use, preventing the frame from warping or deforming in direct sunlight.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Test-fit the two halves dry to ensure the tabs slide fully into the slots.
  2. Apply adhesive to the internal faces of the joint. While standard Super Glue will work, a dedicated plastic bonder (like JB Weld Plastic Bonder) is recommended for superior vibration resistance and long-term durability on a vehicle.
  3. Clamp or hold the pieces firmly until the bond is set.

Final Note: Your uniqueness has been deemed incompatible with the Collective. Please enjoy your freedom and your new license plate frame. Resistance was... surprisingly successful.

DISCLAIMER: This frame does not grant immunity to tractor beams, transwarp signatures, or highway patrol. If your vehicle begins to grow bio-mechanical conduits or starts speaking in a hive mind, please contact your local Starfleet representative immediately.
