Description

PTFE Tube Cutting Guide

A simple, clean, and support-free tool for cutting PTFE (Teflon) tubes to consistent lengths.

Features
🔧 No supports required
🖨 Easy to print
📏 Consistent, repeatable cuts
🔄 Simple circular cutting workflow

📦 Overview
Designed as a circular guide, this tool allows you to route a PTFE tube around the track and cut it precisely at predefined positions.

🔧 How to Use

  1. Insert the PTFE tube into the outer entry hole.
  2. Route the tube along the circular path until it reaches the end.
  3. At the desired marking (indicated by the labels), insert a blade and cut the tube.
  4. After cutting, pull the tube out through the opposite hole. Done!

🧩 Versions

  • X2D (tested)
  • P2S (same spec as X2D, expected to be compatible)
  • H2 Series (H2S / H2D / H2C — not tested yet)
  • X1 & P1 Series (not tested yet)

Notes

  • Only the X2D version has been physically tested.
  • P2S appears to share the same dimensions as X2D, so compatibility is likely.
  • H2 and X1/P1 versions require verification.

💡 Summary
A minimal, reliable PTFE tube cutting guide designed for ease of use and consistent results—no supports, no complexity, just clean cuts.

It does seem to be a bit smaller sized/scaled? or if intentional on your part, to have slightly shorter PTFE tubes than original? This is one of the spare extra tubes that came with AMS 1, 23cm putting it in the guide its ~3mm longer than the cut mark, if cut would be ~22,7cm

There are two possible causes. It’s likely one of the following: 1. The tube was not inserted all the way As shown in the picture, the tube should be pushed in until it touches the end. This ensures it is cut to the intended length. 2. Slight shrinkage occurred About 1% shrinkage may have occurred after printing, which could make the guide slightly smaller than its original size and result in a shorter cut. Since the shrinkage rate varies depending on the filament type, no separate compensation was applied. If needed, you can print it about 1% larger.

What is the difference between hot aux and hot main

As you know, the X2D has two nozzles. The left is the main, and the right is the auxiliary. We have distinguished them because the lengths of the tubes going into these two hot ends are different. For reference, the tube for the auxiliary hot end usually needs to be ID 2.0mm, not Bambu Lab's standard ID 2.5 OD 4.0mm

Looks interesting, but can you give some info what AMS2 S, AMS1 S, AM2 L, AMS1 L means.

The AMS is equipped with PTFE tubes to supply filament. Slots 1 and 4 use slightly longer tubes, while slots 2 and 3 use slightly shorter ones. There is also a slight difference in tube length between the AMS (older version) and the AMS 2 Pro. You can interpret the labels as follows: AMS2 L: Long tube for the AMS 2 Pro (for slots 1 and 4) AMS1 S: Short tube for the AMS (older version)
