Rix K2 / Rix K3 helmet mount

I made a helmet mount for my Rix K3 / Rix K2 pocket handheld thermal camera. This is made to be mounted with a bridge for a dual setup together with my NVG30. If you want to single mount it you need to edit the mount and offset and maybe mirror it for your desired eye.

This mount is made to mount the Rix K2 / K3 on the left eye and NVG on the right eye. Should be simple enough to edit the STEP-file if you want to single mount it.

I printed it from PETG, but PA or PA-CF or enginering grade materials should also be suitable. My PETG mount is sturdy enough with 5 walls and 25% gyroidinfill for my needs.

Since not all faces are equal you could need to resize mount if you mount it in a dual setup since placement is important relative to the NVG. You can only adjust them together with the wilcox mount and not individually. Also be prepaired that the RIX K2/K3 has a really small eyebox and this mount will not press it against the eyesocket when used together with nvg30. You will lose some FOV when head mounted compared to handheld.

You need:

• ¼-20 camera mount screw
• screw that threads directly into plastic in a 3mm hole. Otherwise resize the hole and press a 3mm brassthread in it. Or put a 3mm bolt through with nut on the other side.
• Dovetail mount preferably of aluminium
• Bridge for dual NVG binos. Preferably one made with side adjustment like the one meant for NVG30
• Wilcox mount (clone)
