VORONOI self-watering pot

Keep your plants thriving even when you're away!

This Self-Watering Pot uses a simple and reliable double-pot design, combined with a cotton wick, to ensure your plants get the exact amount of hydration they need through capillary action.

The 15 cm wide and 14 cm high design is perfect for medium-sized indoor plants, herbs, or succulents.

The inner pot is designed for asy removal, allowing you to refill the water reservoir or clean the base in seconds without disturbing the plant.

How it works:

1. Double Pot System: The outer pot acts as a dedicated water reservoir, while the inner pot holds the soil and plant.
2. Wick Method: When transplanting, simply pass a thick cotton cord or jute twine through the bottom of the inner pot.
3. Automatic Hydration: The cord "draws" water from the lower reservoir to the soil, keeping it consistently moist but not waterlogged, preventing root rot.

The 155 mm wide outer reservoir ensures you don't have to constantly refill, while the removable inner pot makes maintenance a breeze.

This project includes the base version for the outer pot:

1. Base Version: An elegant, smooth, and minimalist design.
2. Voronoi Texture Version: Features a dense pattern for a modern, premium aesthetic.

How to use:
Pass a thick cotton wick through the bottom of the inner pot. The wick will draw water from the reservoir via capillary action, providing constant moisture to the roots.

Print Settings and Instructions

To ensure the best results and a watertight reservoir, I recommend the following settings:

• Material: PETG is highly recommended for its water resistance and durability. PLA also works well for indoor use.
• Walls (Perimeters): Set to 3 or 4 to ensure the reservoir is completely watertight., 3 in the Bambu model
• Layer Height: 0.2mm for the inner, 0.16 for the outer, or 0.24mm for a balance between speed and surface quality.
• Infill: 10%
• Supports: No supports needed (designed for easy printing).

Assembly Guide:

1. Print both the inner and outer pots.
2. Cut a piece of thick cotton cord (about 15-20 cm).
3. Pass the cord through the holes in the inner pot so that it hangs into the reservoir.
4. Fill the inner pot with potting soil and your favorite plant.
5. Fill the outer reservoir with water and place the inner pot inside.

If the outer pot is printed in PLA, continuous contact with water over time could damage it. I recommend covering the inner wall with a thin layer of resin, or printing in PETG
