Description

6801 Bearing press and removal tool

This is a three piece bearing press and removal tool for a 6801 bearing. I designed for use in Mountain Bike suspension linkages

The three pieces are

  1. a receiver cup to press the bearing into
  2. a removal press piece which takes into account the bearing abutment dimensions to enable removal the bearing out of the linkage
  3. a install press piece to install the bearing into the suspension linkage.

Features

These are designed to work with an bearing press tool with an 5/16th or 8mm threaded bar.

For removal the long press piece is designed to pass through the bearing and centralize in the hole on the receiving cup for a smooth removal

The press fit has a raised lip to apply pressure to the outer rim

The removal tool takes into account the abutment dimensions of the outer shoulder

6801 Bearing Dimensions

12 mm (inner diameter) x 21 mm (outer diameter) x 5 mm (width)

Abutment Dimensions: Typically 14 mm (inner shoulder) and 19 mm (outer shoulder)
