A calm, architectural table lamp designed specifically for clean 3D printing and beautiful light diffusion. The form is a simple cylinder, but the surface is articulated with a grid of ribs that transform a thin PLA wall into a rigid structure and a soft light diffuser at the same time.

This project is split into two printable parts:

• Ribbed Cylindrical Lampshade
• Cylindrical Lamp Base for E27 LED Socket

Together they create a minimal, modern lamp that looks molded when printed correctly, yet requires no supports and uses standard PLA.

What makes it different

Most printable lamps rely on thickness to diffuse light.
This design relies on geometry.

The ribs do the work:

• Structurally
• Aesthetically

So you get a lamp that is efficient to print, elegant to look at, and pleasant to live with.

Future variations

This first release focuses on the standard-size lampshade optimized for regular PLA.

Based on community interest and requests, I plan to design:

• A smaller version of the lamp / New Shade design, based on the design elements
• A translucent PLA version / New Shade design, based on the design elements
