AIM-120 AMRAAM Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile – 1:48 Scale
This model depicts the AIM-120 AMRAAM in 1:48 scale and was developed as an addition to modern jet models. It is particularly suitable for combination with COBI aircraft, expanding their display possibilities with realistic armament options.
The shape is based on the typical proportions of the original, while the construction was simultaneously designed for reliable 3D printing. This results in a model that is both visually appealing and stable, as well as easy to print.
Flexible Application Options
The AIM-120 can be mounted in various positions, allowing for different configurations – from reduced setups to fully armed jets. This makes it suitable for both realistic displays and individual dioramas or collections.
Integration with Existing Models
The model was designed to seamlessly integrate with the style of COBI aircraft. It meaningfully complements existing sets and creates a significantly more authentic overall impression of modern fighter jets.
Background: AIM-120 AMRAAM
The AIM-120 is a widely used medium-range air-to-air missile and is standard armament for many modern jets. Its compact design and distinctive control surfaces were taken into account in the model to achieve high recognition value.
Attention
Before slicing, the model appears to have an error on the lower brown ring, but it disappears after slicing.
Planned Expansion
In a later expansion, a suitable Dual-Rail-Launcher will also be provided. This allows 2 missiles or bombs, etc., to be mounted on a single pylon, as is common with real aircraft.
Development and Implementation
The model was created at the request of user user_2330559141 and specifically optimized for 3D printing. The focus was on good printability, stable construction, and a harmonious 1:48 scale implementation.

Cobi offers the individual jets in many different (especially color) versions, which should not affect compatibility with my models, with a few exceptions (see above). If you find any other exceptions, please feel free to write to me!
