Description

This is a simple, functional 3D-printable bio-waste container designed specifically for eco-friendly households.

The Design: The model features a tapered, conical shape (truncated cone) designed to perfectly fit DIY bio-waste bags folded from old newspaper. Using newspaper is a great way to avoid plastic or bioplastic bags that often don't decompose properly.

Key Features:

  • Optimized Shape: The conical geometry matches the natural form of folded paper liners.
  • Drainage System: There are several holes at the bottom. If your food waste is particularly damp, fluids can drain out instead of soaking the paper.
  • Easy Cleaning: I recommend placing the bin on a simple plate or saucer. This catches any liquid and can be easily tossed into the dishwasher or rinsed in the sink.
  • Future Proof: I am currently working on a matching lid, which will be added to the design soon!

How to make the bags: If you don't know how to fold newspaper liners yet, check out this guide: Utopia.de - Folding Bio-Bags

Happy printing and composting!
