Description
A 1970s Merkava prototype combined a m48 Patton turret with the early rear-engine, front driven Merkava hull. used at Tel Hashomer for testing, this hybrid served as a development bridge between the existing Magach (Patton) fleet and the unique, crew-survivability-focused design of the final Merkava.
