Description

I originally wanted to buy the 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Enterprise, but it was outside my budget. Instead, I bought the more affordable 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Compact and paired it with a Treaslin N1 Stream Dock to create a similar style of CAD control station for Fusion 360 and other creative software.

This 3D printed model is designed to bring both devices together into one more ergonomic desktop setup. It acts as a combined wrist support, angled mount, and control console housing, giving the setup a more integrated feel while keeping the original devices removable and fully usable.

The 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Compact slides smoothly into the underside of the printed base. The fit is designed so the SpaceMouse sits securely while still allowing access to the original side buttons. The N1 Stream Dock mounts at the rear at a comfortable viewing and button-pressing angle, creating a layout that feels closer to a larger professional CAD controller setup.

The model also includes space for a right-angle 90 degree USB adapter, helping keep the cable routing cleaner and reducing strain on the connector.

This is not a replacement for a SpaceMouse Enterprise, but it is a much more affordable way to build a similar-feeling desktop control station using a SpaceMouse Compact and an N1 Stream Dock.

Key Features

  • Designed for the 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Compact
  • Designed to hold the N1 Stream Dock
  • Creates a more ergonomic CAD control station layout
  • SpaceMouse Compact slides in from underneath
  • Side buttons on the SpaceMouse Compact remain usable
  • Raised wrist support for a more comfortable hand position
  • Angled N1 Stream Dock position for easier viewing and access
  • Helps create a SpaceMouse Enterprise-style workflow on a smaller budget
  • Allows use of a 90 degree USB adapter for cleaner cable routing
  • Ideal for Fusion 360, CAD work, shortcuts, macros, and productivity workflows

Printing Notes

Recommended print orientation will depend on your printer and preferred surface finish, but I suggest printing the main body with the top/wrist surface facing upwards where possible. The 3MF file attached has the body angled for a smoother print. Supports enabled with a Z offset of 0.15mm.

Suggested settings:

  • Material: PLA, PETG, or PLA+
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Walls: 3 or more
  • Infill: 10% to 15%
  • Supports: May be required depending on the chosen orientation (Suggested Z offset of 0.15mm)
  • Brim: Optional, but useful if printing in PETG or if corners lift

For best results, check the fit before forcing any parts into place. The SpaceMouse Compact should slide in smoothly from underneath.

Assembly / Use

  1. Print the main mount.
  2. Insert the 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Compact from the underside of the model.
  3. Make sure the SpaceMouse is seated correctly and the side buttons still operate freely.
  4. Attach 90 degree USBC adapter.
  5. Fit the N1 Stream Dock into the rear angled mount area.
  6. Connect the USB power.
  7. Attach cover plate. Glue may be required.
  8. Set up your N1 Stream Dock shortcuts/macros for Fusion 360, CAD, design, or productivity use. (Icons shown in photo were set up just for show. I am working on a plugin for the N1 which will be released in the coming days)

Compatibility

Designed around:

  • 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Compact (https://amzn.eu/d/0hGGccOK)
  • N1 Stream Dock (https://amzn.eu/d/08zhbD2E)
  • Right-angle 90 degree USB adapter (https://amzn.eu/d/00prbAWf)

This model was designed around my own devices, so tolerances may vary slightly depending on your printer, filament, and exact accessories.

Happy to accept feedback with improvement suggestions.

Hello! Do you by any chance have a version just for the Stream Dock (without the holes to connect to the mouse module). Thanks!

I don’t, but can create you one. Can you message me direct with exactly what you’re after and I’ll sort it out this week once I’ve finished this other project I’m working on.
