  • MX Style Clicky Keyboard Switch x 1:

Description

Do you hate road construction? or maybe you love it? Turn that symbol of the slow march of progress into some desktop-clickable whimsy!

Yes, this is a small traffic barrel that you can tap away on for a satisfying bounce, thanks to the MX-Style keyboard switch inside (which you need to add).

This model requires an MX-Style "clicky" keyboard switch that you will need to supply. The term “clicker” refers to a fidget toy with a keyboard switch inside. The “click” comes from using a “clicky” style switch. If you use a different style of switch, the model will not click. For example: Blue “Clicky” Switches

Assembly can be seen in the animated GIF on this model page. To assemble, insert the four stabilizers into the base. You may need to press hard and/or use a pliers or something like a screwdriver to help press them in if you can't do it by hand. Then add the barrel shell on top. You may need to press hard to get it to lock on to the keyboard switch. If you have trouble, inspect the mounting hole for any stray filament that may be blocking entry.

Design features of this model:

  • The barrel shell can only be assembled at 90-degree positions, to ensure your top barrel always lines up properly with the keyboard switch
  • The design prevents the shell from being rotated too far in either direction, protecting the switch inside
  • Four “stabilizers” keep the barrel well-aligned, with perpendicular layer lines to eliminate the possibility of scratching noises from layers rubbing against each other. This keeps the motion smooth and relatively quiet (besides the clicky switch).

Printing Considerations

  • AMS Required to handle the multicolor (orange/white) barrel
  • The profile has supports disabled but includes one designed support for the mounting pin inside the barrel. Bambu Studio may complain about unsupported surfaces but this is by design.

Why does this exist?

  • Why indeed?
  • Why not?
  • I saw one of these traffic barrels and thought it might make a nice desktop clicker
