Description

I re-designed and crafted a new version of my first trailer with a Turnable Drawbar out of wood and some printed parts. You can use different tire sizes and any RC car tires (Hex mount 17mm).

Btw. there is a hitch / towbar for traxxas sledge or traxxas maxx or traxxas xmaxx

Bill of material:
- 2x Non-Threaded Rods M12 (length up to you) or threaded but then counter screws are advised
- 1x Pack Screws Spax / Torx 3.5x25 or 3.5x12 mm (length depending on the thickness of the wood, countersunk)
- 2 Bearings 17x30x7 MM (6903 2RS) Link
- Wood…e.g. for the XMAXX Version carrying a Maxx, I used:1x Base Plate: 60x45x2 cm 2x Surrounding: 60x15x1.5cm + 48x15x1.5(45+1.5+1.5=48cm)
- The 3d printed stuff attached, use PETG or similar with strength profile. There is a plate for Traxxas tires or classical hex mount.
- 4 tires & some RC Pins :-)

Print & Build:

How to build…
- Lay the surroundings around the base plate to form a “U”
- Put screws from the side into it (you may drill a small hole before to avoid breaking the wood…)
- Use the 4. beam (48cm) for the open part of the “U”, mount the 2x hinge to it and put the small hooks to the side (the one screw should be 5mm out, so the hook can snap into place)
- Push the bearings & rod into the base
- Align the base with the base plate as you wish and put 4 screws into it
- Align the big hook into the middle of the front and put all screws into it
- Shorten the rod with a metal saw if needed and mount the screws (optional the TPU nut too)
- Done

Hint: If you use a threaded rod, during use, the screws may tighten further so maybe its good to use a counter screw
