The Windicator V2 'Compact'
Print Profile(2)

Description
Here is V2 of my original V1 Windicator model. V2 is much more compact and chonky, 22.5cm nose to tail compared to V1 which is 31cm nose to tail.
Being smaller, I've made a few significant changes from V1
- I've done away with the counterweight
- Prints in fewer pieces (optimised for A1 mini)
- Included two mounting options
- Included a North indicator
Everything is push fit, you'll just need two 608zz bearings.
PLEASE NOTE: Please ensure that the supports are properly removed from the top hub. There's a raised ridge inside that the bearing sits on that creates a gap between the bearing and the hub roof so it's free to spin. Everytime I've printed the support has been left cleanly behind on the plate no worries, but do make sure that bearing is free to spin.
Performance wise, near identical to V1… may need an infitesimal amount more wind to get it turning but they both spin in a light breeze.
I've printed in PLA and PETG. I'm favouring PETG because I don't want it to sag in the summer. I used ELEGOO rapid PETG with the Bambu labs PETG basic profile with the nozzle temps and bed temps both +5 degrees because I get horrible layer adhesion otherwise.
The print profile has a support underneath the wing hub. I've found it super easy to remove, actually it's left behind on the plate.
The tiny little plastic washer provides a little gap between the two bearings so that they're free to rotate against eash other. If it's too snug, just get it started then when you marry the top section (cups) to the bottom (vane) it will push into place.
Hope you like it.
