Designed entirely in OpenSCAD, this model is built from the ground up to be customized directly in MakerWorld's Parametric Model Maker. Whether you need a tiny shield for a custom sensor or a massive heavy-duty overhang for an industrial outlet box, you can generate the exact dimensions and features you need in seconds.

🌟 Key Features

  • Complete Dimensional Control: Adjust the roof width, depth, and side heights independently. Need an asymmetrical cover where the left side is deeper or taller than the right? You can do that!
  • Dynamic Roof Profiles: Choose between a standard flat/angled roof or a beautiful, sweeping Fibonacci curve that deflects rain with an elegant, modern aesthetic.
  • Built-in Mounting System: Generates structural house-side inward flanges with perfectly countersunk mounting holes. You can dial in the exact screw hole count, shank diameter, and screw head size for a flush, professional installation.
  • Smart Side Cutaways: Need wires or conduits to pass through the sides? Enable the side cutaways to automatically generate smooth arches. You can shift these cutaways forward, backward, up, or down to perfectly align with your specific hardware.
  • "Opening Between Flanges" Targeting: Don't want to do the math to figure out the final outer width? Just enter your desired clear inner opening size, and the generator will automatically calculate the correct outer shell width to accommodate the flanges and wall thickness.

🛠️ How to Customize

Simply click the Customize button to open the Parametric Model Maker. The settings are neatly organized into logical categories:

  1. Main Dimensions: Set your primary width, depth, and height.
  2. Independent Side Dimensions: Override the main dimensions for the left or right side if you need an asymmetrical shield.
  3. Roof Shape: Play with the roof_angle_deg and roof_curve_mode to get the perfect drop-off. The Fibonacci mode gives it a premium look!
  4. House-Side Inward Flanges: Adjust the width of the mounting plates.
  5. Mounting Holes: Specify exactly what screws you are using so the countersinks fit them perfectly.
  6. Side Cutaways: Dial in architectural arches or wire pass-throughs.

🖨️ Printing Instructions

  1. Orientation: The generator includes a Print Preparation toggle (print_orientation). Check this box before downloading your STL, and the model will automatically rotate to lay perfectly flat on its back mounting flanges.
  2. Supports: Designed to print support-free in the correct orientation.
  3. Material: For outdoor use, PETG, ASA, or ABS are highly recommended for UV and temperature resistance. PLA can warp if placed in direct sunlight.
  4. Infill/Walls: 3+ perimeters are recommended to ensure structural rigidity against wind and weather.
