This model of Spitfire Mk IIb is a major update and a complete redesign of my previous Spitfire model focusing on multi-material printing capabilities.
The model is specifically tailored for printers with dual-extrusion heads (such as the H2D, H2C, and similar) allowing for minimal purge waste and significantly faster print times.
What’s New?
- Integrated Two-Color Camouflage Pattern: The iconic desert camouflage pattern is built directly into the model’s geometry. No need to be painted afterwards.
- Armament: Features the 20 mm Hispano wing-mounted cannons of the Mk IIb variant.
- Two-Color Canopy: The cockpit canopy is now designed in two colors for a more realistic look. I highly recommend using transparent filament for the "glass" sections to achieve maximum authenticity.
- Separate Exhausts: Redesigned exhausts as separate parts for a more detailed and realistic appearance.
- Improved Propeller Design: Based on lessons from previous models, the propeller has been optimized for easier printing and assembly with minimal supports.
- Simple Fit: Designed for easy assembly. Small parts require a drop of glue.
⚠️ Important Note:
Single Extrusion Printers: You can print this model on a single-extrusion printer using AMS. However, please note that the camouflage pattern requires many color changes, which will significantly increase print time and filament waste.
