Description

This print is designed for DUAL NOZZLE printing (H2D or equivalent) -- although it can be printed on single nozzle machines, it will waste a lot of filament. If you are printing on single nozzle printer, I advise to switch to single colour.

A model of the crystalline halite structure, characteristic of salts like sodium chloride (NaCl). The structure is based on a face-centred cubic lattice, with chloride ions at the origin and centres of each face, and sodium ions at positions <0,0,½> in fractional coordinates. Each ion in the model is 6-fold or octahedrally coordinated.

Crystal structures optimised using DFT calculations and then imported into Blender for rendering and exported as STL.
