Description
I made this PSP 2000 bumper from scratch in SOLIDWORKS to solve two main issues: poor ergonomics on the slim models and the lack of accessory-friendly cases. While it should fit a PSP 3000, please try at your own discretion as I cannot test this part on my own due to lack of a PSP 3000
Key Features:
- "Phat" Ergonomics: Brings the total thickness of the console to 23.6mm, mimicking the comfortable depth of the original PSP 1000 into the PSP 2000.
- Accessory Friendly: Open-top "U-frame" design allows full access to the top USB port for cameras and GPS modules, as well as access to the UMD door.
- Vertical Stand: The bottom bridge is extended and filleted to allow the PSP to stand vertically for display. Access remains for the headphone jack.
- Pocketable: Minimalist design that adds protection without the bulk of a full controller grip.
Print Settings (What I've used)
- Material: eSun PLA basic/matte
- Orientation: Print the back cover so it touches the build plate
- Supports: Supports needed for tall overhang/structure at the bottom of the model (enable automatic supports)
- Finish: Enable Ironing on top surfaces (Aesthetic choice)
- Print Time: ~45 minutes w/o ironing, ~1 hour with ironing
Fitment Note: This was designed for a precision friction fit. If the fit is too loose for your specific printer calibration, try scaling the model to 99.5% or 99% in your slicer. Likewise, scale up to 100.5% if too tight or 101%
