Description
Ultimate Gem & Mineral Display Stand - Multi-Tier Collector’s Shelf
Key Features:
Three-Tiered Organization: Maximize your display space with three levels of varying heights.
Secure Seating: The surfaces include multiple indentations and "seats" designed to keep rounded, tumbled, or uneven stones securely in place.
High Capacity: Specifically designed to hold a wide variety of specimens, from small faceted gems to larger raw mineral clusters.
Display Quality: The open-frame design allows light to pass through and around your crystals, highlighting their natural clarity and color.
Important Printing Note - Size & Scaling:
Please note that this model was designed to be quite large to accommodate a significant collection. As a result, the default file size is a bit too large for many standard build plates (such as the Ender 3 or Prusa MK3/4).
Scaling Recommendation: To fit this model onto a standard 220mm x 220mm or 250mm x 250mm build plate, we recommend scaling the model down a few percentages.
Customization:
If you have a smaller collection, the model holds its detail and functionality beautifully even when shrunk down further.
Don't let your crystals stay hidden in a box — give them the pedestal they deserve!
3D printing settings
Material: PLA (Marble, Stone, or Wood-filled PLAs look particularly stunning for mineral displays).
Infill: 15-20% (Gyroid or Cubic recommended for structural strength).
Supports: Not required if you orient the display correctly on your build plate.
Layer Height: 0.2mm for a smooth finish, or 0.12mm if you want to capture the finest details of the “seats.”
::: UPDATE :::
Thank you for the great ideas! Version 2.0 is finally here, designed to give you even more control over how you display and label your favorite crystals. This update introduces a flexible labeling system that lets you customize the shelf exactly to your setup.
What's New?
- Optimized for Navigation: Improved geometry for a more streamlined look.
- New Labeling System: Now you can elegantly name your specimens. The new, configurable name labels can be downloaded in four different lengths to fit everything from a single large crystal to a whole collection of small specimens:
- 20 mm (Perfect for tight spacing)
- 40 mm (Standard size)
- 60 mm (For longer names)
- 100 mm (For wide descriptions)
- Full Line Control: Since the shelf is 200 mm wide, you can easily mix and match different labels to cover the entire line however you want. (e.g., 10 labels at 20mm, 5 at 40mm, or a combination of 20, 60, and 100mm).
Printing Guide
- Support: No support needed.
- Material: PLA, PETG, or whatever you prefer.
- Infill: Standard 15%.
Assembly (Important)
To ensure your labels sit completely stable and professional on the shelf, they must be glued down. I recommend using a drop of superglue (cyanoacrylate) or contact cement for the best, lasting bond.
Configuration
Remember that the configurability lies in the name labels. When downloading, simply select the length that best fits the specimens you have on your line.
I'm looking forward to seeing your new v2.0 setups!
