Description

The front chain guard on my bicycle fell apart.  I made this one to replace it.

The original chain guard was 188mm in diameter (I made the replacement a little larger for better protection from clothing touching the chain).  I purposely omitted the openings in the original chain guard (the original openings were for injection molding ejection), again to help protect clothes from the chain and to stop collecting additional dust and grime.  The chain guard takes five screws (M3, 10mm self tapping countersync). You can reuse your old screws.

I also made the replacement a little more beefy than the original as my original was pretty flimsy.

I suggest printing in something that can withstand whatever temperatures and conditions that you are cycling in.  I printed mine in ASA.

My bicycle is a Cube Fold 500 Hybrid and I believe the front crankset is a ACID E-Crank 165mm, 42T.  I am sure this chain guard will fit some other bicycles.

When I checked how much it would be to replace this part, I was looking at over $60.00.
