Description

Make preparing your moka pot less of a pain with this bespoke prep station for the Bialetti 2-ounce moka pot. Includes a stand for the funnel, a setting/drying location for the top, and a perfectly-sized “wrench” to place the base in so that you can screw and unscrew the top without touching the hot base. The wide tray also helps catch any grounds that may escape the funnel or your spoon while dosing. Version 2 now includes a far better drying setup! The “Colliseum” allows you to separate the gasket and filter and dry them underneath the top part of the pot, and the design allows air to flow without restriction. The dosing funnel now has similar airflow holes as well to aid drying.

If this moka prep station helped your moka pot workflow, please consider a boost. It's free to you and helps feed my filament addiction!

Important: Print in ABS/ASA if you intend to use this with a hot moka pot.

There are multiple moka pot techniques, but the one I use is to fill the base with near-boiling water before putting on the stove. Of course, this makes the base of the moka pot very hot - same when it comes right off the stove. This is well above the softening point of PLA and it WILL deform or, worst case, stick to your moka pot. ASA & ABS have softening temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius, and will withstand these temperatures. You can still use this as a wrench and prep station with a cool pot, you just need to make sure that you use room-temperature water and let it cool after removal from the stove before placing it in the prep station.
