Description

this is a remix of the raspberry pi 5 cyberdeck. Main changes are

  • centered keyboard (completly different design of the lower part of the cyberdeck)
  • additional backplate with screws which can be adapted (this allows to also mount the pi ai hat or the ssd shield)

like the idea but maybe I am not following what you had on mind. you said you wish to have access to the two micro hdmi. but that slot which I guess is there for them is just off. too far to the right. see my photo unless I missed something. and the network and usb port imo you missed a trick and could have push those back in closer. I wish I had your cad files, so I could tweak the design. fusion is my poison of choice:). maybe I will have ago at redoing the base plate :). but I do like the idea :)

Here are some pictures how the mounted pi on the display should look like and how the access to USB and Micro HDMI looks like

I see what your saying but I think I going to rework yours so I can add this and get full size hdmi and nvme without needing extra deepness.

@MadHias Super Design! ***** I was looking for a nice, functional case for my Cyberdeck for a long time. Your model appealed to me the most out of all the available creations! However, I installed a Raspi4. As can be seen in the photos, I had to mill an additional cutout for the jack socket. I also had to remove some material from the case on the strut between the USB3.0 and the USB2.0. But your design is based on the Raspi5. Now in operation, I am still missing the audio output (;-) ). It would also be nice to have quick access to the SD card in order to quickly flash a different image.

It looks great in black 😁 Regarding SD card access, I was already looking for an SD card extender, but unfortunately, I haven't found anything good and affordable that's easy to install. But I feel the same way as you, and it would be practical if you could access the SD card more easily. Regarding audio output: in another project, I soldered the Pimoroni Amp Shim as an amplifier to the GPIO strip and connected a 3W mono speaker. There are also relatively small speakers that can be integrated into the housing with some adjustments, but this makes it a bit larger. I myself am currently using a Bluetooth speaker for audio output ;)
