Picavet Kite Camera Stabilizer
Print Profile(1)

Description
This is the frame for a Picavet rig, a suspension system used in kite aerial photography (KAP) to keep a camera automatically level as the kite flies through the air as tilts and moves throughout its flight. The rig frame has eye hooks at each corner of the cross-shaped frame and uses a clever threading of lines to dampen the rotation and swinging of a camera which is attached to the bottom of the frame.
The suspension system used a single, continuous, 30-foot length of braided Dacron line passed through four eye bolts (or pulleys) on the cross and two attachment points on the kite line. It creates a self-leveling cradle that keeps the camera stable, regardless of the kite line's angle.
Properly rigged: it will self-level automatically, regardless of kite line angle; it reduces rotation around the line; it dampens the swinging caused by wind or kite movement and it provide a stable platform for photography or sensors.
The length is 21cm and the width is 10cm. If you require a different size, use the scaling function of Bambu Studio to change it to the size what you want.
In order to string the model, a Google search will find several web sites which show how to assemble the rig.
