The caps do NOT seal the bottle airtight! That is not their intention. They serve to protect against pests (bugs, bees, and other vermin) and to identify your bottle. A nice side effect for women: They can be sure that no one has put anything in their bottle.
Attention: only for crown cap bottles !! not for screw-top bottles !!
