Cute and Practical Desk Accessory

Can store data cables less than 40mm in diameter and one meter long, it is recommended to use softer cables (such as braided cables)

The core is recommended to be printed with PETG material to ensure better toughness and durability. Of course, PLA can also be installed and used normally, but frequent assembly and disassembly can easily cause damage

After installation, the layer lines between the parts will interlock, making them very stable and not easy to separate. When disassembling, gently wiggle back and forth until the parts loosen, do not pry them apart forcefully. Alternatively, sand the layer lines of the core before assembly

Since the layer lines on the top curved surface of FDM are more obvious, I flattened the top and bottom surfaces and added 'top surface ironing', making it smoother to the touch and in appearance, while also allowing it to sit stably on the desktop

Installation instructions:

First install the 'upper cover part'

Insert the middle section of the data cable diagonally between the two pins of the core, then install the stopper (the stopper can also be fixed to the lower cover part first)

Connect the core with the upper and lower covers

If you have any other better optimization suggestions for this work, you are welcome to leave me a message or publish your optimized profile, thank you

Second Edition:

Added another horizontally printed core profile, which solves the problems of layer breakage and excessively tight layer line interlocking that occurred with the original core. If the original vertical core breaks or is difficult to disassemble, you can try replacing it with this new version of the core

Also added a middle interlayer with a hanging ring, convenient for hanging or as an ornament

The two new profiles above only contain modified parts, and require the first complete version to be configured together for use

Author's Note:

This work initially originated from a sudden idea of mine. The appearance, structure, and operating principle were all designed based on my limited experience, so there are inevitably many flaws. But I never expected it to be downloaded by so many people on MakerWorld. As the printing volume increased, its shortcomings were also exposed: for example, difficult support removal, unreasonable assembly tightness, etc. Of course, I am aware of these issues, but they are influenced by multiple factors. With my current abilities, even after debugging and iterating parameters many times, I cannot fully resolve them. Of course, I will continue to find ways to optimize. If you have better optimization directions for this work, you can also discuss them with me, or upload your profile. Thank you all for your likes and support
