Ski Helmet Visor Knob (M4 Compatible)
Print Profile(0)
Description
This project features a custom-designed knob for securing a ski helmet visor. The knob is specifically engineered to work with standard M4 button head cap screws (BHCS), providing a reliable and easy-to-use fastening solution.
The design focuses on ergonomics and usability, allowing users to comfortably tighten or loosen the visor even while wearing gloves. Its textured surface ensures a secure grip in cold and wet conditions, making it ideal for winter sports.
The knob is suitable for 3D printing and can be easily integrated into existing helmet visor systems that use M4 screws. It offers a practical upgrade or replacement for lost or damaged parts.
Key features:
- Compatible with M4 button head cap screws
- Ergonomic design for easy handling with gloves
- Improved grip with textured surface
- Ideal for skiing and snowboarding conditions
- Simple and durable construction, optimized for 3D printing
Printing Tips:
- No supports required
- Print with 0.2 mm layer height for best detail
Use PETG or ABS for better cold resistance (PLA works but may become brittle in low temperatures)
Assembly:
Insert an M4 screw through your visor mount and secure it with the printed knob.
For an even stronger hold, you can insert the screw while it is slightly heated. It’s best to heat the screw when it is already almost fully inserted into the part—this helps prevent melted plastic from getting into the threads and keeps the connection clean and precise.
