Parametric Mollice clip (Molle + Alice)
Print Profile(1)

Description
đ§ Parametric MOLLE Clip (Flexible Strap)
This is a fully parametric MOLLE-compatible clip designed for 3D printing. It works as a flexible retention strap that weaves through MOLLE/PALS webbing to securely attach gear, pouches, or accessories.
The model is designed to be customized directly in CAD (Fusion or similar) before export, so you can adapt it precisely to your gear.
âď¸ How it works
The clip is inserted through MOLLE webbing in a weaving pattern (pouch â platform).
Once fully threaded:
- The top head anchors the clip
- The body holes align with MOLLE spacing
- The bottom hook (fork) locks into place and prevents slipping out
- The flexible material allows the hook to compress during insertion and snap back
This creates a secure but removable connection without tools.
đ Important before printing
â ď¸ The included file is an example configuration that fits my specific MOLLE (computer bag).
MOLLE dimensions can vary slightly depending on:
- stitching
- fabric thickness
- manufacturer tolerances
đ You MUST measure your own MOLLE spacing and adjust parameters before printing.
𧊠Customizable Parameters
| Parameter | What it does |
|---|---|
| rows | Number of MOLLE rows the clip spans (controls overall length) |
| clip_thickness | Thickness of the clip (affects strength vs flexibility) |
| side_clearance | Side gap between clip and webbing (fit tightness) |
| head_len | Length of top head (retention at top) |
| end_hook_len | Length of bottom hook section |
| hook_lock | Size of locking lip on the hook |
| hole_dia | Diameter of holes in the body |
| fillet_edges | Edge rounding (comfort + durability) |
| molle_webbing_h | Height of MOLLE webbing (standard = 25.4 mm) |
| molle_width | Width of MOLLE webbing (used to compute clip width) |
𧪠Material recommendations
â Do NOT print in PLA
â Too brittle, will crack
â Recommended:
- TPU (hard / 95A+) â best performance (flex + durability)
- PETG â acceptable compromise (less flexible, still usable)
đ§ Tips
- Increase side_clearance if insertion is too tight
- Increase horn_length for easier flex during insertion
- Increase clip_thickness for heavier loads
- Use fillets generously to avoid stress fractures
đŻ Use cases
- MOLLE pouch attachment
- Cable / gear retention
- Backpack organization
- DIY tactical / EDC setups
