Description

Firstly thanks to all who have engaged with our previous caliper (EDC) designs!

We loved it too, I work as a contractor for the offshore energy industry and I use mine daily when working,  I always take a handful of them out with me do gift to other engineers / mechanics and they think they are great.

I have been meaning to upgrade this for a while to allow for accurate internal measurements and it was quite tricky to get a reliable print to achieve this.

So, this is a snug fit like the previous designs but its made that way so it wears in to a nice action, carefully insert the scale into the handle then work it back and forth a few times to loosen it off before clicking it all the way home.

You will also need to “calibrate” the internal measuring prongs with a file or some sandpaper against a flat surface, you'll notice in Bambu Studio that there are some unavoidable support structures due to the overhangs caused by the prongs, this causes a less than perfect finish to the prongs, to fix this they are ever so slightly oversized allowing you to file them flat to the correct size. Its not difficult and results in a far better finish than the printer can achieve in this orientation.

A little bit of post production finessing for you with this model 😉.

I hope you guys this as much as you did the original, so if you have a spare 15g hit that big green print button!
