8.7L Compact Vertical ITX Case (SFX PSU)

A self-designed power supply front-mounted vertical ITX case, inspired by the legendary Smallest One, with internal re-optimization to suit modern build requirements.

Case volume 256*147*232 (excluding feet), approximately 8.7L.

Uses SFX PSU (SFXL not supported), CPU cooler height limit 120mm (RZ620M X recommended), supports GPUs up to 243*120*49 (theoretically supports 5070 reference card).

An 8025 fan can be installed at the rear with through-bolts (Arctic P8/F8 series recommended).

My own configuration is RZ620MX + Colorful BattleAx 5060ti DUO + Xuanwu SFX + P8MAX.

To save space, there is no internal frame; the entire case is assembled from panels.

Due to panel thickness limitations, no heat-set inserts are used. Be prepared to screw in a lot of screws during assembly.

Additionally, a cooling DLC (add-on) is provided, which can hold two 12025 fans to blow from below (it's well-known that anything outside the case doesn't count towards volume).

Bill of Materials:

1. Hardware:

M3*10*4.5 small countersunk screws, mainly for connecting panels.

M3*8*6 flat head screws, for securing the motherboard/power socket/graphics card.

6#-32*1/2 screws, for securing SFX power supply.

The above screws can be found on Taobao for a couple of yuan per large bag, with free shipping.

2. Case Parts:

Power switch link

Power extension cable link (25cm long, regular screw-fixed type; forward or reverse direction depends on your PSU. Ensure the cable exits towards the rear of the case; my Xuanwu SFX is forward).

These two items are from the same store, you can buy them together to save on shipping.

3. GPU Power U-bend adapter:

Due to the extremely compact size of the case, power cables cannot be directly installed. A U-bend adapter is required. When purchasing, pay attention to the orientation of the GPU power port.

4. Case Fan (optional):

8025 fan (Arctic P8/F8 series recommended), four sets of through-bolts (head must be wider than the 6mm grille).

5. Custom Cables (optional):

Custom cables are not strictly necessary; I've tested that the original cables for Xuanwu SFX work, but custom cables make for a tidier routing.

CPU 8pin 40cm, GPU 8pin 15cm.

The motherboard 24pin is a custom-shaped cable made by the Black Umbrella Mod customer service based on my case photos. Specific parameters are unclear; it's recommended to directly provide photos + your PSU model to customer service for ordering.
