Magnavox NB887 Remote Replacement Battery Cover

This is a 3D-printable replacement battery cover for the Magnavox NB887 VCR combo remote. The original battery door is commonly lost, cracked, or has a broken clip, making it difficult to keep batteries securely in place. This replacement restores proper fit and function so the remote can be used normally again.

The design includes a spring-style retaining clip similar to the original, allowing the cover to snap into place and stay secure.

Print Notes:
Filament: PETG is recommended for the flexibility and durability of the spring clip. PLA may be too brittle for long-term use.
Orientation: Print on its side (left or right side down) so the layer lines run across the clip, improving strength.
Supports: Required to properly form the clip and inner geometry.
Infill: 20–40% is sufficient.
Perimeters: 3 walls recommended for strength, especially around the clip.
Post-processing: Carefully remove supports around the clip area. Test-fit and lightly sand if needed so the cover snaps in securely without excessive force.
