Description

Dishwasher basket reinforcement inserts

If you have a dishwasher made by Hotpoint, Indesit, Whirlpool, Ariston with the same basket shown in the photos, then you are almost certainly aware of how easily the bottom of the basket can break, allowing cutlery to fall through.

(For reference, the Hotpoint and Indesit basket part number is J00383588, if you want to confirm you have the same basket)

These basket inserts are designed to fit snugly in the bottom of the basket compartments, preventing cutlery from falling through the bottom of a damaged basket, or just preventing damage to a new basket.

Unlike other designs, these have one bevelled edge, which allows them to sit fully flat in the basket. The bevelled edge faces the "notch" in the basket that straddles the plate holders in the dishwasher drawer.

Dimensions are 55mm wide by 41.5mm deep by 18mm high

Walls are 3mm thick with 3mm holes.

No supports are required.

The model prints four inserts by default; baskets can be added via "Clone" or deleted to print whatever number you require.

I'd advise against using PLA filament as it will not stand up to the temperatures inside a dishwasher. My set printed in PETG has survived several 65C wash cycles. For maximum temperature resistance ABS or ASA are probably ideal.

Hopefully these will save a few people the cost (usually about £15 to £20 GBP) of replacement dishwasher baskets.
