The Ultimate Bin Generator is a fully parametric OpenSCAD model for creating storage bins that actually fit your setup.
Desk drawer full of random bits? Workshop slowly turning into controlled chaos? Need bins for screws, electronics, hobby parts, kitchen items, printer accessories, or a Gridfinity-style layout? This generator lets you create the bin you need instead of searching for one that is almost right.
Choose the size, shape, dividers, wall pattern, label recess, lid, bottom style, and stacking options, then generate a custom bin that fits your space and your workflow.

What’s new in V1.2
V1.2 focuses on making the generator more complete, cleaner to use, and better suited for real storage systems.
New and improved features include:
- Gridfinity sizing option
Choose between manual bin dimensions or Gridfinity unit-based sizing. - Cornered perimeter bottom
A cleaner bottom option that adds perimeter-style feet only around the corners. - Improved stackable lid option
The lid can now include a matching stacking pocket based on the selected bottom style. - Separate bin and lid label recesses
Add a label recess to the bin, the lid, or both. - Lid label position options
Place the lid label recess on the top of the lid or on the front rim. - Lid top indentation
Add a shallow lid detail in styles like oval, rounded rectangle, stadium, diamond, or rim. - Cleaner parameter menu
The customizer menu has been reorganized into a more logical workflow, making it easier to build a bin from start to finish.
Main features
Fully parametric
Adjust the size, wall thickness, bottom thickness, corner style, lid fit, dividers, labels, wall pattern, and more.
You can make a quick simple bin or spend a bit more time creating a complete matching storage set.
Manual or Gridfinity footprint
Use regular width and depth values, or switch to Gridfinity-based sizing with X/Y unit controls.
Great for people who want Gridfinity compatibility, but still want freedom to use the other custom options.
Divider options
Create bins with no dividers, simple split layouts, or more organized compartments.
Useful for screws, nuts, electronics parts, tools, craft supplies, and all the tiny things that somehow end up loose in drawers.
Optional lid
Generate a matching lid with adjustable wall thickness, clearance, top thickness, and overlap depth.
Perfect when you want cleaner storage, stackable boxes, or a more finished look.
Stackable lid pocket
The lid can include a recess based on the selected bottom style, making it possible to stack bins more neatly.
Works with compatible base options like perimeter, cornered perimeter, and Gridfinity-style bottoms.
Label recesses
Add a clean label recess to the front of the bin, the lid, or both.
The lid label can be placed on the top surface or on the front rim, depending on how you want the bin to be used or displayed.
Lid top indentation
Add an optional shallow indentation to the lid for a more finished look.

This generator was made for practical everyday prints.
Most simple versions should print easily without supports. More detailed versions may depend on your selected wall pattern, lid settings, and printer setup.
Recommended starting point:
- PLA or PETG
- 0.20 mm layer height
- 3 walls or more
- 10–20% infill
- Supports usually not needed
- Brim optional for larger bins
For stronger bins, I recommend adding more walls rather than just increasing infill.
