Description

What's in this set? A universal two-part wall-mount solution for pressure-fit child safety / stair gates. The round profile works with many common gate brands – originally designed around the Geuther mount (Easylock, Easylock Plus, Easylock Wood), but the simple circular shape makes it compatible with most gates that press against a flat wall area (e.g. Reer, Impag, Lindam, Safety 1st, BOMI and many others).

  1. Spacer (tall part) – goes on the side where the gate cannot sit flush against the wall.
  2. Counter-plate (flat part) – goes on the opposite wall, so the gate has a clean, defined surface on both sides.

Both parts share the same circular design language, so the installation looks consistent on both walls – not like a spacer stuck on one side and bare wall on the other.

Why do I need both parts? Stair gates work best when they press against two equal, solid surfaces. If you use a spacer on only one side, the other side may sit directly against an uneven wall, baseboard edge or painted surface – the gate can shift, wobble, or leave marks. The counter-plate solves that:

  • Gate sits firmly, does not slide or wobble
  • Both sides look symmetric and intentional
  • For pressure-fit gates: clamping force is transferred cleanly on both sides
  • Protects the wall from pressure marks and scuffs

When you typically need this setup:

  • Stair handrail or banister in the way on one side
  • Thick skirting boards / baseboards
  • Wall trim, pipes, cable ducts or protrusions
  • Angled door reveals
  • Uneven or textured walls where a flat reference surface is needed

Installation – same for both parts:

  1. Glue – Both parts have a flat back. Heavy-duty double-sided tape (3M VHB, Tesa Powerbond) or construction adhesive works great. Clean the wall, press firmly, let it cure.
  2. Screw – Both parts have a center hole. Run a standard screw (e.g. #8 × 1½" / 4 × 40 mm with a suitable wall anchor) straight through the part into the wall. Most secure option – recommended if a child will push hard against the gate.

Tip: You can combine both methods – tape for initial hold, screw for long-term security.

Dimensions

  • Spacer (tall): Ø 54 mm / 2.13″, height 50 mm / 1.97″
  • Counter-plate (flat): Ø 44 mm / 1.73″, height 7 mm / 0.28″
  • Both have a center hole for screw pass-through

Print settings

  • Filament: PETG recommended (better stiffness and heat resistance), PLA also works
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Infill: 40–50 %, at least 4 wall loops – these parts must handle repeated load
  • Supports: not required – both parts have flat faces that sit directly on the build plate
  • Color: white matches the original Geuther hardware best

Notes

  • Universal fit: the round shape works with most pressure-fit gates, but wall-cup shapes vary between manufacturers. Please eyeball the fit against your specific mount before gluing/screwing – worst case you may want to scale slightly in your slicer.
  • Please test the fit against your specific Geuther mount before permanent installation – the manufacturer occasionally revises its gate hardware.
  • This is a DIY part, not a certified accessory. Overall installation safety is the user's responsibility. Always do a firm pull test after mounting, before letting a child near the gate.
  • Feedback, makes and remixes very welcome!
