Barrel, Oil barrel, Nuclear waste barrel, Decorative barrel, Pen holder
Print Profile(1)

Description
I designed a small oil barrel.
There are already many versions of this, but I prefer to do my own thing.
Scale 1:10, i.e. 88mm high, 60mm diameter.
Corresponds to a standard oil barrel / nuclear waste barrel
Also ideal as a pen holder!
My version is printed in 3 parts:
Barrel body (ideally with internal brim).
Barrel bottom - simply print.
Barrel lid - requires Support.
With the H2D, I have the printing filament on the left and the support filament on the right.
Since the Support for PLA and PETG is used, there is an error message (PLA/PETG mix), which can be ignored if you print it as I do.
If printing with 2 nozzles, the flushing tower is also not needed - this message can also be ignored.
Adjust accordingly for other printers.
Easy print, I print almost everything with PETG-HF.
Suitable for oil barrels, nuclear waste barrels, model building.
When scaling up or down, always remember that the wall thickness also changes.
Why 3 parts?
This makes you flexible!
Separate lid = storage, container, hiding place, etc. I made a barrel for my pens.
Separate bottom = you can, for example, install lighting from below, if there is interest, I can do something there, e.g. printing the barrel with transparent filament.
The parts fit together perfectly on the H2D and X1C. If it doesn't fit → calibrate your printer.
If it still doesn't fit → let me know.
The bottom can simply be glued in. I use superglue gel.
Regarding the depicted barrel:
Printed in yellow PETG-HF from Bambulab.
Stickers are decals from Druckeronkel. You can of course print them in all possible versions and variants.
This is now simply a “grungy nuclear waste barrel”.
The rust is real!
I don't like rust paint, so I just soaked a metal scouring pad in vinegar and waited a week (stirring repeatedly).
Result: finest rust!
After drying, finely grind with a mortar and pestle.
Rust tends to stain, so it's best to use a disposable part:

I simply printed a mortar and pestle for myself.
Store the rust powder in a glass.
If needed, put a few drops of clear varnish into a cup, add a little rust. Mix and paint - it looks extremely real, because it is real rust!
And every now and then, just add a few drops of water, that smears the rust and improves the effect.
Instead of clear varnish, you can also use fluorescent paint, then it even glows in the dark.
Or you print directly in glow filament :_)
Of course, you can also make oil barrels with it - and new ones, without rust.
I just felt like making little nuclear barrels for the "nukular" waste (as Homer would say)
Have fun reprinting.
