Description

After building Albert_Borland's excellent ‘Three-Shaft Turboprop Engine Model’ (https://makerworld.com/en/models/1845690-three-shaft-turboprop-engine-model#profileId-1976002) – in his words “loosely inspired by the TP400 (the powerplant used on the Airbus A400M)” I felt a need for it to have a propeller assembly that looked more like that on the TP400.

While my design skills are not yet good enough for the task, I discovered a very clever parametric propeller generator by Koolm (https://makerworld.com/en/models/1800273-propeller-generator-parametric-elliptical-blades#profileId-1919705) that did an impressive job.

It is in two parts to reduce the amount of support to almost zero.  The cylindrical shaft adapter is glued into the rear of the propeller assembly and fits the output shaft of the turboprop model precisely.  One of the photos shows the print attached to the build plate with a brim - which is part of the 3MF profile and something I strongly recommend using.

The subtractive toroid in the 3MF limits the blade length for mounting the model on Albert_Borlands's matching stand.  If you are mounting the model some other way, you can remove the toroid to print full length blades.

I printed mine in BL PLA Metal.
