Description
Integrated Snap-On Bike Frame Box
A 3D-printed hard-shell storage box that snaps directly into the frame triangle above the bottom bracket. Perfect for tools and spares while keeping the weight low on the bike.
Note on Fitment: This is not a "one-size-fits-all" part. It is designed for round tubes, but every frame has different diameters and angles. You will likely need to modify the provided Fusion 360 (.f3d) file to match your specific geometry.
Features
Snap-Fit Mount: Clips directly onto the frame tubes. No straps, no bolts.
Weatherproof Lid: Features an interlocking tooth design with a 1cm overlap to keep water and mud out.
Secure Storage: The closure is intentionally designed to be discrete and a bit "fiddly" to open, making it harder for random people to quickly grab your tools.
Capacity: Fits a spare tube, multi-tool, and tire levers. (Too short for most pumps).
Material & Printing
Material: Do not use standard 95A TPU; it’s too soft for a secure snap-fit. Use Hard TPU (70D+), 85D, or PEBA for the necessary stiffness.
Texture: The carbon look is achieved via CNC Kitchen's BumpMesh but my export settings swallowed the fetures.
You would need to use a 0.2mm edge length for the mesh generation. Expect a heavy file (approx. 4 million triangles), but this high resolution is required to render the carbon texture properly. Low-res exports will look pixelated.
Customization
Open the .f3d file.
Edit the first sketch to input your frame's tube diameters and angles.
Check the timeline for any broken fillets or constraints after resizing (sorry for the non existing structure in the fusion timeline)
