Description

Manual and Motorized Concrete Mixer, designed to be cheap and light.

 

Ideal as a children's toy and educational tool for learning how cogwheels and gears work.

 

The model is made up of interlocking parts: 10 for the motorized version and 13 for the manual version.

 

All you need is a 4x10mm screw and, for the motorized version, a cheap SG90 continuous rotation servo motor.

 

An Arduino sketch is provided for the motorized version.

Great toy, my 3year old loves it and always asks to play with it. The model in my photos is printed at 130% size as i wanted to make it thicker and more sturdy to be able to handle the abuse easier. it also include some modifications like servo motor mount/cover as at 130% the servo didnt fit the original mount. a battery slot and the servo motor is converted to run continuously without the need for a pwm control module or an arduino. The cement drum is a bit back heavy so the gravity pulls it down and stands vertically unless you keep it on the side with your hand, this may be exaggerated a bit on my model as its enlarged and therefore heavier. if the designer realises a v2 at some point, i believe it would be better if the model was a bit thicker to be able to survive easier as children can be a bit harsh with their toys and maybe the drum could be a bit thickened in the front to balance the weight with the back and make it rotate on its side.
