Description

This model is a direct, functional replacement for the factory center console cubby (GM 90561246) found in Opel/Vauxhall Astra G and Zafira A. It maintains the utility of a standard 1DIN storage tray but adds an integrated 17mm ball mount. The 17mm ball is the industry standard, making it compatible with the vast majority of aftermarket phone holders and wireless car chargers.

The design is engineered for durability. The front panel is intentionally angled to reinforce the base of the ball mount, better distributing the leverage and weight of modern, heavy smartphones. The model is split into a front face and a back tray to allow for the best possible print orientation for strenght and reliability.

Printing & Assembly

The provided print profile is fully optimized and ready to use. You can simply click print and let the machine do the work.

  • Assembly: The front and back parts are joined using printed alignment pins. While they press-fit, you need to apply a drop of superglue (CA glue) to the pins and the mating surfaces for a secure, permanent bond.
  • Structural Reinforcement: The slicer profile includes a height range modifier. The specific Z-height range containing the 17mm ball mount is set to print with dense infill. This guarantees the neck of the ball mount is completely solid and will not snap off under load or vibrations.
  • Material Warning: Car interiors reach high temperatures in the summer, and PLA can deform, but it is better than nothing. Use PETG if you have one.Additional Information

I have also included the STEP file for this model. You can freely download it and modify the design to suit your specific needs or different ball mount sizes. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to leave a comment or send me a private message.
