Astro-Friend: Alien of Courage
Print Profile(1)

Description
A friendly space alien designed for courage boxes (Pieksekiste). It's a tactile, solid, ultra-safe toy that glows in the dark to keep children company even at night!
A Magical and Reassuring Friend from Space 🚀 I designed "Astro-Friend" specifically for the Pieksekiste contest. The goal was to create a small comfort tool for children in clinics, combining clinical practicality and empathy.
This friendly little alien works like a "worry stone". Around its body, it has a solid ring decorated with embossed stars and planets: children can squeeze it or gently touch the space shapes with their fingers to distract themselves and calm anxiety before or after a medical procedure.
The Magic of Glow-in-the-Dark 🌙 To make it even more special, the model is designed to be printed with glow-in-the-dark filament (like Bambu Lab PLA Glow Yellow). At night, Astro-Friend lights up, becoming a silent and reassuring "glowing guardian" next to the child's bed.
Why it meets the Pieksekiste criteria:
- 100% Safety: No sharp edges, points, or angles. The model has been meticulously rounded.
- Childproof: It's a single solid block. There are no moving parts, interlocking pieces, or small detachable parts that pose a choking hazard.
- Practical Dimensions: Perfect for little hands to grasp and for fitting comfortably into a typical "courage box" or gift package.
- Emotional Impact: The sweet face and glowing effect convey positivity, friendship, and courage.
