Description
AN/ALQ-99 ECM Pod – 1:50 Scale
This model represents the AN/ALQ-99 Electronic Countermeasure Pod in 1:50 scale and was developed as an addition for aircraft models
It is designed to fit well with COBI aircraft of a similar scale and can be aesthetically mounted under wings or on appropriate pylons. The focus was on a clean exterior shape and easily printable structures for FDM 3D printers
Design & Print
The shape is based on the distinctive design of the AN/ALQ-99 with its elongated, segmented structure. At the same time, the model was simplified and optimized to remain reliably printable without losing unnecessary delicate details
Compatibility
The model is particularly suitable as an accessory for COBI aircraft in 1:50 scale and can be used in dioramas or as part of a weapon configuration. The goal was harmonious integration without visual breaks from the base model
Background
The AN/ALQ-99 is an electronic jamming system used, among other things, on the EA-18G Growler. It serves to disrupt enemy radar and communication systems and is a typical element of modern electronic warfare

Cobi offers the individual jets in many different (especially color) versions, which however should not affect compatibility with my models, with a few exceptions (see above). If you find any other exceptions, please feel free to write to me!
